Last nights walk resulted in little useful tracking. I'm still experimenting with software for Pocket PC to record the tracks. Turbo GPS was pretty useless.
Today I went out at lunch and drove some of the smaller roads around Grantham, this time I used NoniGPSPlot. The tracks are more better, I'll get them into JOSM this evening and have a closer look.
Any suggestions on alternative software for the Pocket PC, or even a list of useful features you'd like in such software.

I switched from NoniGPSPlot to OSMTracker. Our area is well covered by sat-images but now with OSMTracker I'm using the GPS again.

Thanks, I'll try OSMTracker out tomorrow.

I use NaviPOWM on my Windows Mobile phone to do my OSMing. Has good support for showing OSM vector data.

When I used my PDA I ended up using BeelineGPS. I think that's by the same makers as NoniGPS but also free and better (just harder to find if you haven't heard of it).
Also, if it's a bluetooth GPS your using to your PDA then you could use a java enabled phone instead. Lots of programs for phones and stupidly they're batteries tend to last longer. Like TrekBuddy.

Hi James. We've been using GPSProxy v2.2c with Garmin Que software on our PDA for a lot of our tracklogs on Malsingmaps. More info at http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/PocketPC_Setup_Guide_to_use_Malsing_maps and http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/Wsian's_modified_GPSProxy_versions . Wsian's modifications allows storage of 1sec tracklogs. The tracks I've uploaded to OSM are using the above combination (GPSlim 236 BT GPSr and O2 XdaIIs). Hope that is useful. ;-)
